The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration recently fined Honda $70 Million dollars for willful failure to submit reports of fatal accidents and injuries as required by the government.  This is the largest fine ever levied against an automaker.

Honda disclosed in November that it grossly under reported the number of deaths and injuries linked to possible defects in their cars.  Honda failed to report 1,729 written claims or notices from mid 2003 to mid 2014.  The number that was not reported exceeded the 900+ that were reported.  The facts demonstrate Honda knew in 2012 there was an under reporting issue and still did nothing to correct it.  It bears repeating that GM had a similar issue with defects that were killing and injuring people and that information was also kept from NHTSA.

Companies like Honda, GM, Toyota and all the others have an absolute responsibility to report this information as a matter of both law and ethics.  When you have knowledge that there is an issue that could kill someone you are required by law to share that information and then set out to fix the issues.  Failing to report these issues can lead to injury and death and that is where we get involved.

Are we willing to go after a company that is irresponsible with facts?  That is an emphatic YES!  This is why we became advocates for the injured.  Injured people are often without a voice and we step in and become their voice and represent their interests.  In the most tragic cases we represent the interests of the surviving family members.  According to the report issues by NHTSA, Honda has a LOT of explaining to do to both the government and the driving public.

Never in my life did I think I would recommend an attorney. Somehow God sent this angel of an attorney to assist me in my personal injury lawsuit. I was told by lawyers in Bakersfield that my lawsuit was frivolous because there was money in it.
