For the second time in a week someone was struck and killed on the Sacramento Light Rail tracks.  You may remember that it was only a week ago that a popular high school student was killed on these same light rail tracks.  The first death happened less than 200 yards from the point of impact in today’s death.

Riders on the train reported that at about 8:30 this morning the train operator slammed on the brakes and that caused the passengers on the train to lurch forward in their seats.  The condition of the passengers riding the train is not known at this time.  RT/ Light Rail brought in buses to shuttle passengers around the accident scene.

This is a very serious issue especially considering that there was a death less than a week ago in almost the exact location.
